Celia Juarez was born in Barstow, California on August 9, 1930. She was the second of four children born to Jose Vicente and Cristina Juarez. Shortly after birth, she moved to Irapuato, Guanajuato Mexico, then Mexico City with her family where she lived until she was fourteen, when she returned to California and settled with family in Fresno. She made her way up the Central Valley to Isleton, Pittsburg, and eventually San Jose. Finally, over twenty years ago, Celia moved to Rocklin with her daughter’s family, Sarah and Kurt Peterson, where she passed naturally and peacefully at home surrounded by loving family.
When you Google the word “Mother” you’ll find the image of Celia. She was devoted to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She raised four children, who raised ten children, who are raising nine children. She taught her daughter to love and nurture her children and her sons to provide for and honor their wives.
Google “Faithful” and there she’ll be again. Her love and belief in God and devotion to the Virgen de Guadalupe was profound. She taught all her family to honor parents and God and led by example.
She loved to bake anything, especially cookies for her kids and pies for the holidays. Her pot of beans and carne de puerco con chile’ had no rival.
Celia was preceded in death by her parents, her older brother Robert Juarez and her younger sisters Socorro Juarez and Mary Ayala. She will be missed by her sons Vincent Narez (Lynne), William Narez and Tom Narez (Lori), her loving daughter Sarah (Kurt), all of her grandchildren, great grandchildren, her family and friends, QVC, and Izzy the dog.
We are grateful for donations made toward purchasing a brick for our Nature Center in her memory.
