Feeding the Hungry, Sheltering the Homeless
Loaves & Fishes is a gathering of compassionate self-sacrificing volunteers who gather the hungry, the lost, and the desperate in order to spill out the love of God upon them. At Loaves & Fishes this consists of what we call Survival Services. These are such things as hot food, shelter, cold water, a safe place to rest, shade trees, clean bathrooms, hot showers, and personal toiletries. These are the things that most people take for granted, but imagine not having the money to buy a hot meal when you're hungry, a bottle of cold water when you're hot, or finger nail clippers when you break a nail. At Loaves & Fishes we serve our brothers and sisters by not only filing their stomachs but also by giving them the small services that mean survival.
Volunteer
Once a month, on the third Thursday of the month, volunteers from SS. Peter & Paul carpool from the church parking lot to help serve meals to feed more than 500 hungry people at Loaves & Fishes, which is located at 1321 North C Street, on the corner of North 12th Street.
